History of Enterprise Self Storage

In 1982, Enterprise Self Storage founder Greg Varon had a philosophy on real estate development: “Any residential or commercial development must not only be economically feasible, but should supplement and enhance the surrounding community, improve property values, and most of all put its customers before anything else.” The huge success of Enterprise Self Storage led Greg to extend the original self-storage concept into a network of self-storage facilities throughout the San Fernando Valley.

Then in 1997, Enterprise Self Storage, truly innovators in the self-storage industry, evolved into a successful organization.

The company focused on the development of many innovative self-storage concepts, including an on-site training program for site managers, high-tech security devices for its facilities, and a contract management and consulting program that offered their expertise and knowledge to all independent self-storage owners.

Today, Enterprise Self Storage has become a leader in the self-storage industry, whose management and storage concepts are being imitated industry-wide. ESS currently consists of 3 self-storage facilities in the San Fernando Valley, located in Glendale, Sun Valley and North Hollywood totaling more than 200,000 square feet and over 2,000 rental units.
